原始语种摘要: This paper presents a low cost method for the purification of oils obtainedfrom the pyrolysis of used tires. Oxidative desulfurization is a promisingroute for purification of tire pyrolysis oils as hydro-desulfurization maynot be affordable for small scale industries. Different additives and acidshave been employed for the enhancement of properties of pyrolytic oils. Theexperimental conditions were kept identical throughout, i.e. atmosphericpressure and 50°C temperature for comparison of performance of variousadditives. The use of hydrogen peroxide-acetic acid mixture (10 wt.%) wasfound more economical and effective in desulfurization and improvement offuel properties of sample oils.
