原始语种摘要: The following study aims at depicting the difficulties that Arab-Americans face in an attempt to help them find their true identity. Thus, it sheds light on the reasons that make Euro-Americans hate, dislike and even feel afraid of Arabs. It also studies the reaction of Arab-Americans toward such oppression. This is done through analyzing the graphic novel Arab in America: A True Story of Growing up in America (2007) by the Arab American artist and writer Toufic El Rassi (1978- ). In this novel El Rassi uses images and jokes to narrate how he grows up in a country that eliminates Arabs. He also deals with some of the political events that affected Arab-Americans.
