Thenovel MCC was shown to be a suitable starting material for producing cellulose nanofibrils, in turn having similar molecularweight Mw, crystallinity, and particle size comparable to those from sequentially enzymatic and mechanically treated softwoodsulphite pulp, but at lower cost.
