|原始语种摘要：||Aim & Objectives: Cognitive impairment is an important feature of Schizophrenia. Aim of the study was to find the effectiveness of Cognitive remediation therapy and its impact on functional outcome among clients with chronic schizophrenia. Methodology: 30 male and female patients diagnosed with chronic schizophrenia in the age group of 30-50 years were randomly assigned to experimental and control group. Each patient’s cognitive functions, quality of life and occupational performance were assessed using the scales Addenbrooke’s cognitive examination (ACE-R), Manchester short assessment of quality of life (MANSA) & COPM. While patients of the experimental group received cognitive remediation therapy (CRT) along with treatment as usual (TAU – Medication + Group therapy), those of the... control group received only TAU. Result: There was significant improvement in the cognitive functions (p<0.001), quality of life (p<0.001) and occupational performance (p<0.001) following cognitive remediation therapy. Conclusion: The study concludes that cognitive remediation therapy is effective in reducing cognitive impairment and improving the quality of life and occupational performance in clients with chronic schizophrenia.|
