原始语种摘要: This paper endeavors to show that, contrary to current prevailing thought, Newtonian mechanics does not break down in the region of very high speeds if correctly applied. The possibility of the existence of a medium in the so-called free or empty space is discussed, and the resistance of this medium to the motion of elementary particles is determined. Newtonian mechanics is used to calculate the energy required to accelerate a particle to high velocities and to derive E = mc 2.
