原始语种摘要: A computer model was used to calculate the gravitational effects of isotropically distributed ordinary matter on the observed frequency of a photon as it traveled from a source to a receiver. It was found that an isotropic distribution of ordinary matter on the cosmic scale is capable of producing a gravitational red shift comparable in magnitude to the red shift observed for the most distant sources in the observable universe.
