原始语种摘要: The age hardening effect in Fe, Ni and Cr added hyper-eutectic Al-Si automotive alloy has been studied to isochronal and isothermal ageing at various temperatures for different times. It is observed that double aging peaks takes place in the aged alloys due to the formation of GP zones and metastable phases. Fe addition improves the hardness but decreases the tensile properties due to presents of Fe rich intermetallic especially for needle-like β-Al5FeSi. Addition of Ni does not show the positive effect in strength of the experimental alloys. Cr recovers the strength because of the modification of the morphology and the type of Fe-rich intermetallic phases in the cast alloys.
