Quantum Zeno Effect in an Unstable System with NMR

原始语种摘要: We theoretically propose a scheme for the verification of the quantum Zeno effect (QZE) to suppress a decay process with nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). Nuclear spins are affected by low-frequency noise, and thus we can naturally observe non exponential decay behavior, which is a prerequisite in observing the QZE. We also show that a key component for verifying the QZE, namely, the measurement of a nuclear spin, can be realized with NMR using the current technology by using a measurement process with a non selective architecture.
