原始语种摘要: Tardive dyskinesia is the common extrapyramidal side effect that occurs with the chronic use of antipsychotics. In this study we used an animal model of vacuous chewing movements induced by chronic treatment with haloperidol for the assessment of protective benefit of Ganoderma lucidum, a polyphenolic richmushroom species. Ganoderma lucidum has shown various pharmacological activities that include anti-inflammatory, antitumor, antiallergic and antioxidant activities. There are several species of Ganoderma that are known for their medicinal use but Ganoderma lucidum (red Reishi) and Ganoderma sinensis (black Reishi) exhibit most beneficial health promoting properties.
